With funding from our Community Chest programme, Ultra Education CIC delivered a dynamic 12-week entrepreneurial project for young people aged 7 to 21 at Parkside Yards, our community hub. Their journey concluded at the Youth Biz Mini Pop-Up Market in May, a vibrant showcase of local young talent in action.

Hosted at Parkside Yards at The Green Quarter, the market provided the opportunity for them to share their bold ideas and for visitors to support young businesses nurtured within the community.

The entrepreneurs showcased their ideas, set up their stalls, spoke to real customers and made real sales. From handmade jewellery and accessories to natural skincare products, the event celebrated a brilliant range of businesses, all created, priced and sold by the young people themselves.

What made the day so special was seeing confidence grow in real time. The participants were not just selling products; they were learning how to communicate their value, engage with customers, present their brands and experience first-hand how effort, creativity and preparation can translate into income.

The organisers of Ultra Education said: “Too many young people only hear about entrepreneurship, but rarely get the opportunity to practise it in real-world settings. This pop-up gave them that chance, and they rose to the challenge. We are hugely grateful to everyone who attended and supported the event, and especially to Jags Sanghera from Berkeley, Mandie Wilde from OPEN Southall and all at The Green Quarter for helping make this possible. This was not just a one-off event. It is part of our wider commitment to building consistent, practical and inspiring enterprise experiences that help young people grow in confidence, develop business skills and see themselves as future entrepreneurs.”
