On Tuesday 17th February, we donned our aprons at The Green Quarter to celebrate Pancake Day, led by the fantastic team at Southall Coffee House at the heart of our community hub at Parkside Yards.

During the day, Southall Coffee House hosted a special two-hour Pancake Day workshop for our friends at Honeypot Children’s Charity. This national charity does vital work supporting young carers aged 5 to 12 with respite and learning breaks, and crucially, the opportunities needed to make happy childhood memories.

20 young carers joined the workshop to decorate pancakes, before heading outside to The Tree Nursery to practise their frying-pan flips. In honour of the charity’s 30th anniversary, they also took part in a pancake-flipping competition – with the first to flip 30 pancakes crowned the winner!

The Southall Coffee House team served pancakes from the menu throughout the day, while fundraising tins were available for visitors to donate to Honeypot. It was a joyful day filled with creativity, laughter and plenty of delicious treats.
