Author Candida Mosoma joined children at Parkside Yards on Monday 26th October for an immersive storytelling experience, aimed at children aged 4 to 9 years. The event was also attended by a special guest, the Mayor of Ealing.
Candida’s Mbilu Tales presented Afrocentric children’s stories rooted in family memory and imagination. At the event, funded by The Green Quarter’s Community Chest for resident projects, Candida shared her original story, Khanyi and the Fireflies, to mark Black History Month. Children also had the opportunity to create their own magical firefly jars.
Characters Khanyi and Momo explored themes of courage, friendship, imagination and the warmth of South African Tsonga heritage through these engaging stories.
